Sunfish
amphiphiles
are cationic amphiphiles which can be used for
non-viral gene delivery. The cationic materials form spherical or
cylindrical liposomes around DNA that can be transported into the cell
either by fusion, pore formation or by endocytosis.
Once the complex is inside the cell, the DNA is released and free to
migrate to the nucleus.
